REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution joins Golkar Party after being sacked by PDIP. President Jokowi's son-in-law will soon become a cadre of the Golkar Party.
“God willing,” he replied briefly when asked if he had been a Golkar cadre. He said this after attending a briefing event for the future regional head of the Golkar Party at the headquarters of the party with the banyan tree logo, West Jakarta, Saturday (6/4/2024).
Bobby claimed he had not obtained a member's (KTA) sign card of Golkar Party. Even so, he said “God willing” will get the KTA of the Golkar Party.
He did not answer directly when asked when he would wear a yellow jacket as an official sign of becoming a Golkar cadre. “The batik used to be today,” said Bobby, who was wearing a yellow batik.
Meanwhile, Golkar Party General Chairman Airlangga Hartarto said Bobby would soon become a cadre. “(Bobby) will at a later time be given or decided to become a cadre,” Airlangga said after the briefing.
Although not yet a cadre, Golkar has apparently made Bobby one of the candidates for governor (cagub) of North Sumatra (Sumut) in the 2024 election. “From North Sumatra I feel that the candidate for governor in North Sumatra is not just me,” Bobby said.
