The head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bandung Barat Meidi Regency said the flash flood event occurred in Kampung Joglo, Sirnagalih village. The landslide occurred in Kampung Gintung, Cibena Village, Cipongkor District on Thursday (24/3/2024).

Meidi said nine people remained missing and had not been found. “Nine people have not been found, one person was found and immediately evacuated in Cililin Hospital,” he said.

According to him, the search process for the victims is still being carried out by a joint SAR team. Meanwhile, as many as 30 houses were heavily damaged and landfilled and 350 people were displaced in SDN Padabakti and GOR Desa Cibanda. “30 houses were destroyed, 350 people were displaced in two places,” he said.

Watch, a number of refugees are displaced in SDN Padabakti. They are predominantly female and elderly. There are decent clothes given to refugees. There is also a health post set up. A joint SAR team is on site to carry out the search process.
