DKI Provincial Government Urges Residents to Keep Cleanliness During Ramadan

Visitors to parks in DKI Jakarta are advised not to throw garbage carelessly.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The City Parks and Forest Service (Distamhut) of DKI Jakarta appeals to residents who live in the parks and forests of the city to maintain cleanliness. Visitors are urged not to throw rubbish carelessly.

“During this Ramadan, let's come together to keep our nature InsyaAllah nature will also take care of us,” said Head of Distamhut DKI Jakarta Bayu Meghantara when contacted in Jakarta on Tuesday (12/3/2024).

Bayu said that while waiting for the break time to arrive, people can take a leisurely walk while enjoying the scenery and breathing fresh air in the city parks and forests in Jakarta, which operates from 06.00 WIB to 18.00 WIB. In addition, Distamhut DKI Jakarta also deploys personnel who are in charge of maintaining the cleanliness and order of the park, both sedentary and traveling.

Bayu said there are parks that are open and closed in nature. If the park is open, Distamhut DKI Jakarta together with the Pamong Praja Police Unit (Satpol PP) of DKI Jakarta and a number of regions always monitor

“If there are still gatherings above 18.00 WIB, it is an open and closed garden. As Taman Suropati is an open garden this kind of thing we take care of together with Satpol PP and a number of regions. As long as it does not disturb order yes it does not matter,” Bayu explained.

Previously, the Police Unit Pamong Praja (Satpol PP) of DKI Jakarta increased surveillance and conducted surveillance of entertainment and recreation venues during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid 1445 Hijriah/2024 AD. “These nighttime activities are regularly carried out for 33 days starting from March 11 to April 12 in five administrative city areas,” said Eko Saptono, Head of Supervision and Control of Satpol PP DKI Jakarta Business Place in Jakarta, Monday (11/3/2024).
