REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Airport Council International (ACI), an organization that houses about 1,950 airports in 185 countries, awarded various awards to three airports of PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II. The three AP II airports that won ACI Airport Service Quality Awards 2023 are Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport (Palembang), Supadio Airport (Pontianak), and Depati Amir Airport (Pangkalpinang).
AP II VP of Corporate Communication Cin Asmoro said all three AP II airports in total won 10 ACI ASQ Awards 2023.
“Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport, Supadio Airport and Depati Amir Airport each won ACI ASQ Awards 2023 for the category of best airport in Asia Pacific based on capacity of each airport. We are very proud of the achievements of the three AP II airports that won ACI ASQ Awards 2023 based on the assessment of aircraft passengers,” Cin Asmoro said in a written statement on Tuesday (12/3/2024).
The announcement of the award was made by ACI on March 10, 2024. ASQ has an in-person survey approach to airport travelers, where the survey assesses 30 passenger experience indicators.
Cin Asmoro said that infrastructure development, IT utilization, and increased human resources are key for AP II airports to have high service standards.
“This award reflects AP II's spirit in serving airplane passengers. This appreciation from ACI is also thanks to the good collaboration among airport stakeholders as well as support from the whole community,” said Cin Asmoro.
The ACI ASQ Awards 2023 awards given to Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport (Palembang) are ACI World Director General's Roll of Excellence, Best Airport of 2 to 5 Million Passengers in Asia, Easiest Airport Journey in Asia-Pacific and Most Enjoyable Airport in Asia-Pacific. Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Iwan Winaya Airport EGM said it had previously won four awards in 20222 and only got one award, which is Best Airport of 2 to 5 Million Passengers in Asia.
“What is special for us this year is to receive the ACI World Director General's Roll of Excellence award, which is an award that is only given to airports that have won various ACI ASQ Awards for 5 years in the 10-year period of the program. We hope that all the awards won by Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport will be able to carry Indonesia's fragrant name and become the pride of the entire Palembang community,” Iwan explained.
Meanwhile, Supadio Airport won the ACI ASQ Awards 2023 for Best Airport of 2 to 5 Million Passengers in Asia-Pacific and Airport with the Most Dedicated Staff in Asia-Pacific. So is the Easiest Airport Journey in Asia-Pacific and Cleanest Airprot in Asia-Pacific.
Supadio M Iwan Sutisna Airport EGM said that the award as the best airport in Asia Pacific is an encouragement to continue strengthening aviation connectivity in Pontianak.
“We are grateful for the appreciation given by air passengers that Supadio Airport has won four awards, including being the best airport in Asia Pacific for a capacity of 2-5 million passengers,” Iwan said.
Another AP II airport that won ACI ASQ Awards 2023 is Depati Amir Airport (Pangkalpinang). Depati Amir Airport won ACI ASQ Awards 2023 for Best Airport under 2 Million Passengers in Asia-Pacific and Cleanest Airport in Asia-Pacific.
“This award is an encouragement to all stakeholders of Depati Amir Airport to continue to provide the best service to the passengers of the aircraft. We are grateful for the appreciation and support of the entire Bangka community,” said EGM Bandara Depati Amir Mohamad Adiwiyatno.
