REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PADANG -- Minister of State Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Erick Thohir, inaugurated the Modern Culinary Area of Lambangan Station in Bukittinggi City, West Sumatra, Wednesday (6/3/2024).
“All parties should collaborate with various parties to build Bukittinggi City, one of which is the Culinary Center of Lambangan Station,” SOE Minister Erick Thohir said during the inauguration of the Lambangan Station Culinary Area in Bukittinggi City on Wednesday.
The minister of state-owned enterprises said that after the Covid-19 pandemic Bukittinggi should be able to revive the economy and tourism sector. To make this happen, local governments need to collaborate with many parties. “Everyone should be able to collaborate to ensure Bukittinggi City becomes a tourist destination,” said Erick Thohir.
On that occasion, Erick Thohir said in advancing tourism and the economy of an area there are four key factors. First, the support of beautiful landscapes, the friendly culture of the local community in welcoming tourists, culinary to adequate infrastructure support. Sources in particular, he continued, include areas that have already been accepted on a global level. This is evidenced by the large number of Padang dining houses in different countries.
Meanwhile, Member of Commission VI of DPR RI, one of whom deals with state-owned enterprises Andre Rosiade, said the Culinary Center of Lambangan Station of Bukittinggi City is evidence of cooperation, and collaboration between the local government and DPR RI, the central government and other relevant parties. “This is evidence of the accelerated development of Sumbar by collaborating with various parties,” he said.
He judged Bukittinggi Mayor Erman Safar to successfully transform the former railway station into the largest culinary center in the Minang Realm. “We expect this culinary center to add to the original income of the Bukittinggi area and contribute to the national economy,” Andre said.
Finally, Andre hopes that the SOE Minister will help convince PT KAI to lease the station land for the next 10 years as a culinary center. Because, at the moment PT KAI is only leasing for five years.
In line with that, Bukittinggi Mayor Erman Safar said that the management of Lambangan Station carries the concept of integrated culinary tourism. “Bukittinggi wants to absorb more tourists from different regions to Bukittinggi through culinary,” he said.
