REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto before investors, bankers and financial practitioners promised Indonesia would welcome more investment in its future.
Prabowo, speaking at the Mandiri Investment Forum 2024 event in Jakarta, yesterday, said that in order to realize this, Indonesia will continue to strive to attract capital investors to invest in the country.
“We are open to investment and want more investment coming in. For this, Indonesia must change its mind for the better,” Prabowo said in his speech.
“Once again, we must improve efficiency and prevent more corruption practices, enforce the law, and ensure all investors from home and abroad are protected according to applicable laws,” he added.
Prabowo is a presidential candidate whose vote is currently superior according to the provisional vote recapitulation of KPU RI. The provisional recapitulation of KPU RI as of Tuesday at 15:00pm showed the pair of presidential candidate-vice presidential candidate number 02 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka obtained 58.82 percent of the vote.
Meanwhile, his two rivals, 01 candidate Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar obtained 24.49 percent of the vote, and 03 candidate Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. got 16.68 percent of the vote. As of today at 15:00pm, the votes entered in the Commission's recapitulation reached 78.10 percent.
At the same event, Prabowo also promised to continue the programs of the government of President Joko Widodo-Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.
“The policies of the government of President Joko Widodo have proven successful and we will ensure it continues. We will improve the things that need to be improved,” Prabowo said .
He also admitted that there are still some systems that are less efficient and need improvement. Therefore, he also claimed that he will use digitization to improve work efficiency in government.
“Technology makes surveillance even stronger. It will be easier for us to keep an eye on each other (check and balance). We're going to have better accountability. We will cut things that waste a lot of time and are inefficient,” Prabowo said.
