Second, Amirsyah said, to read prayers when looking at the crescent moon of Ramadan, which is the moment marking the start of the holy month of Ramadan. Because at this moment, it is recommended to read a special prayer containing gratitude and prayers for the smooth worship of fasting.

Third, purify intentions ahead of Ramadan to purify intentions in worship.

“This is so that the fasting worship in the month of Ramadan is carried out sincerely and solely because of Allah SWT,” he said.

Fourth, Amirsyah continues, preparing for physical and mental health, as an important capital for conducting fasting worship by maintaining a kosher diet and thayyib (good), exercise, and sufficient rest so as to carry out the fasting worship meaningfully.

Fifth, he added, to deepen the knowledge in the month of Ramadan as the month of tarbiyah (education), in order to improve the quality of science through the curriculum of life during Ramadan.

“Thus, it is possible to realize personal piety towards social piety, in the midst of many social problems such as poverty and lagging behind in the field of science,” he said.

Concerning faith and piety, Amirsyah considers hablum minan naas (human relations) to be an attempt to realize social piety that can be practiced while performing worship in the month of Ramadan.

According to him, the month of Ramadan is here to increase insight and knowledge in dealing with the problems of the nation.

“Therefore, the momentum of Ramadan must be able to solve one of the nation's problems, namely the decline of the values of honesty and justice,” he said.
