REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Chairman of DPP PDIP, Puan Maharani and his son, Diah Pikantan Orissa Putri Haprani are likely to be both successful members of the Parliament of Indonesia from 2024-2029. Winning the provisional votes of the mother and the child in the respective constituencies (constituencies) is enough to win the seats of members of the House of Representatives in the 2024 elections.
Puan is a candidate for legislative member (candidate) of PDIP in Central Java electoral district V. KPU as of Tuesday (27/2/2024) has carried out the vote count or real count against 80.99 percent of the polling stations in the constituency.
As a result, Puan was recorded as the candidate who won the most votes in the constituency, which was 187,929 votes. In fact, Puan was temporarily recorded as the second most vote-winning candidate in Indonesia.
With such a large vote, the active Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia is almost certain to become a member of the council again. Meanwhile, Pikantan or as Pinka is commonly referred to as PDIP candidate in Central Java District IV. As of Monday (26/2/2024), the Commission has conducted a real count of 76.01 percent of polling stations in the constituency.
As a result, Pinka won 64,150 votes. Grandson of Megawati Soekarnoputri was the second highest vote-getter among PDIP candidates in Central Java Constituency IV.
The PDIP will likely gain three seats in the constituency, based on the results of provisional counting using the Sainte Lague method. One of the three seats won by the PDIP was certainly Pinka's right.
Thus, the 26-year-old politician will be a member of the Parliament of RI for the period 2024-2029 with his mother, Puan. Both will be jointly located in the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta.
Earlier, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said that Pinka had already followed a number of stages of caderisation of the party before being nominated as a candidate. Pinka stayed for three days at the PDIP Party School in South Jakarta to get party education along with other PDIP cadres.
Hasto explained that PDIP does recruit cadres as well as prospective candidates from all fronts. One of them is from PDIP's own cadre family.
“It is a culture that has been awakened not only in Indonesia, but also in the United States, in Singapore, in Europe, (i.e.) political parties that are pillars of democracy are recruiting from families,” Hasto said after submitting the list of future candidates at the KPU RI Office in Jakarta, Thursday (11/5/2023).
Her grandmother Pinka, Megawati Soekarnoputri is the General Chairperson of DPP PDIP. His mother, Puan Maharani is the Chairman of the DPP PDIP for Political Affairs. Meanwhile, Pinka was noted for completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Indonesia and continuing her education at SOAS University of London.
