“Our goal is to build Salman Hospital, but on the way it is not easy to need resources. Well, at the same time we have built this building and then thought why not use it for the first phase of the eye hospital before it will be Salman Hospital in the future,” Hari said on Tuesday (20/2/2024).

He obtained data that the rate of blindness in Indonesia reaches 8 million people while in West Java it is between 2 and 2.5 percent. In addition, many people experience symptoms of eye pain but are not treated.

Hari Utomo continued the construction of an eye hospital to bring health services closer to the southern region of Bandung, especially the eyes. In the future services at the eye hospital will accommodate BPJS healthcare in collaboration with Salman Charity House. “The end of the year is expected to be sorted out and operational,” he said.

Salman Global Medika's PR director Dr Nurul Fathoni said 70 per cent of blindness was caused by cataracts. Therefore, Salman's eye hospital is expected to address the cataract problem through surgery.

“Another eye problem is glucoma, retinal disorders part of the latency that can be given to the public. Moreover, in Bandung Regency, no eye hospital has been referred to Cicendo so far,” he said.

Nurul continues 40 per cent activity in the eye hospital going forward will provide services outside of eye services. Services such as nerve disease or internal medicine are allowed to the community.
