REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Presidential candidate number 3, Ganjar Pranowo proposed the establishment of a special committee (pansus) on parliamentary voting rights to investigate indications of fraud in the 2024 elections. The right to vote can be proposed by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) and the Parti Peruatan Pemulation (PPP) of the Parliament.
The right of poll is the right of Parliament to conduct an inquiry into the implementation of a law or government policy relating to matters of importance, strategic, and far-reaching impact on people's lives. Including, things that allegedly contradict the legislation.
“If the DPR is not ready with the right to vote, I encourage the use of the DPR's interpellation right to criticize fraud in the 2024 presidential election,” Ganjar said in a press release in Jakarta, Monday (19/2/2024).
The establishment of a voting rights panel must be based on urgency and be qualified. The terms of use of this right of poll are regulated in Article 199 of Law (Law) No. 2 of 2018 on the Second Amendment to Law No. 17 of 2014 on MPR, DPR, DPD, DPRD (MD3).
In Article 199 Paragraph 1 it reads, “The right of poll referred to in Article 79 Paragraph 1 letter b is proposed by at least 25 members of Parliament and more than one faction”. According to Ganjar, poll rights are one of the efforts that can be made to hold the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) accountable.
Especially, he added, related to the holding of the 2024 elections, where there are many indications of structured, systematic, and massive fraud (TSM). Ganjar claimed that he received thousands of incoming messages from volunteers and the public in the form of photos, documents, or videos about various alleged fraud that occurred in the 2024 presidential election.
He insists that such indications of fraud cannot be left. “If the nudity of the alleged fraud is silenced, then the control function does not exist. This should be investigated, prepared, minimum DPR session, call, field test,” said Ganjar, who is a cadre of PDIP.
