BRI Reach Wider Customers with More Than 740,000 BriLink Agents

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Director of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI), Sunarso revealed that BRI continues to carry out digital transformation to deliver and reach customers more widely. One of them is by expanding Agenbrilink.

“By the end of December 2023, it was noted that BRI had more than 740 thousand Agenbrilink with transaction volume reaching IDR 1.427 trillion and providing fee-based income to BRI worth Rp 1.5 trillion throughout 2023,” Sunarso said in its 2023 Performance Report in Jakarta, Wednesday (31/1/2024).

In addition to providing more efficient services for BRI, Agenbrilink is an economy sharing business model. For the agents, the value of the income they receive can reach 2-3 times that received by the BRI.

“This is tangible proof that the existence of BRI is capable of providing jobs and income for people,” Sunarso said.

Sunarso said that BRI looks forward to 2024 with optimism, and the company continues to work to respond to various challenges in order to support sustainable business growth. BRI's innovation and exploration of new sources of growth have implications for the company's increasingly complex business

“This requires BRI to be more dynamic and careful in optimizing business opportunities, both now and in the future,” Sunarso said.

Throughout 2023, BRI posted a brilliant performance throughout 2023. BRI recorded a profit of Rp 60.4 trillion in 2023, and BRI's profit performance as a group grew by double digits 17.5 percent.

BRI's success is also independent of BRI's credit distribution, which grew 11.2 percent to Rp 1,266.4 trillion yoy in December 2023. Of this, 84.4 percent or Rp 1,068.7 trillion was obtained from the distribution of loans to MSMEs. The double-digit credit growth, Sunarso continued, had a positive impact on recorded interest income of IDR 188.1 trillion or increased 16.9 percent on an annual basis (yoy).

Throughout 2023, BRI also managed to maintain credit quality with a non-performing loan (NPL) ratio or bad loans of 2.95 percent. As for NPL coverage, BRI recorded 229.09 percent. For Third Party Funds (DPK), BRI managed to collect Rp 1,358.3 trillion or grow 3.9 percent annually. Of the total funds raised, 64.4 percent were dedicated to low-cost funds or Current Account Saving Accounts (CASA).
