REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PACITAN -- Presidential candidate number 2 and the winner of the 2024 election, Prabowo Subianto specially met the 6th President of RI Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) at the SBY*ANI Museum and Gallery in Pacitan Regency, East Java, Saturday (17/2/2024).
Prabowo's arrival was warmly welcomed by SBY, who was accompanied by his two sons, namely DPP Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) and Waketum Democrat Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono aka Ibas. Both Ahy and Ibas were each with wives.
Prabowo arrived at the SBY*ANI Museum and Gallery located on Jalan Lingkar Selatan (JLS), Ploso Village, Kecamatan/Pacitan Regency on Saturday around 10:47pm. The warm welcome of SBY and the family makes his meeting with Prabowo seem familial.
Prabowo seemed to respect SBY who was his senior while at the Military Academy (Akmil) and TNI AD. SBY graduated Akmil in 1973 and Prabowo abituiren Military Academy 1974.
“He used to be my commander,” Prabowo said, smiling at SBY standing beside him.
Having received the respect of his guest of honor, SBY again uttered a respectful sentence. “Now replace Mr. Prabowo as my commander,” SBY said, followed by a body gesture and a hand gesture of respect.
The chairman of the DPP Gerindra Party also had time to greet the media crew who had been waiting for him since morning. The conversation and mutual praise between the two took place briefly, then SBY invited Prabowo to enter Wisma Drupadi, SBY's residence located in the SBY-ANI Museum and Gallery complex.
“Thank you (for waiting). For the details later. I want to give permission to Mr. SBY, this is my commander. After the election I now have to deliver the results,” Prabowo said to media crews as he entered the room.
In the room that had been prepared for the meeting place, SBY and Prabowo continued a closed-door conversation that AHY and Ibas also attended. SBY's son-in-law, Anissa Pohan and Siti Ruby Aliya Rajasa were also seen.
After a closed-door meeting at Wisma Drupadi Museum and SBY-ANI Art Gallery, Prabowo explained the reason for meeting SBY. “It was tremendous support for me (during the presidential election). Thank you all,” Prabowo said.
The defense minister claimed that the honor had been received by the 6th President of RI, SBY and his family. “I came first as a junior. I thank him for his support. It's been incredible in my support. Thank you,” Prabowo said.
He admitted that SBY as a family was very helpful. Including AHY who fought together with the Democratic Party leadership through the Indonesian Forward Coalition.
“Personally, physically it's all down as well as EBY (Ibas) working hard. In essence I came here for sowan and passed thanks and sowan to seniors,” Prabowo said.
