REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- General Chairman of Pengembang Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU), KH Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya) said that the official results of the voting conducted in the General Election (Election) have not been finalized. However, Gus Yahya believes there is no potential for meaningful trouble.
“From the information we have received, we are sure that there will be no potential for meaningful profit in the future,” Gus Yahya said during a press conference at PBNU Building, Central Jakarta, Friday (16/2/2024).
According to him, the party has held meetings and listened to various information from various parties involved in the election process. Therefore, according to him, the results of the 2024 election will be finalised well.
“As for the election results, yes, there are no official results from the Commission. But we don't live in the woods. We have friends from surveyors, professionals and we have friends from different parties involved,” he said.
On behalf of PBNU, he congratulated the Indonesian people, both the government, the election organizers, and the contestants. Because, according to him, the electoral process up to the vote has been carried out well.
“Up to this point we have concluded in this process Indonesia has won. Because the process goes well, peacefully, smoothly and we can finish. We just have to wait for the results,” Gus Yahya said.
Meanwhile, there are also parties that have not been able to accept the results of the 2024 election quick count. According to Gus Yahya, the issues in question can be resolved through proper processes.
“And about this result, I think what remains is the problems that can be solved through the proper processes, that is, legally with clear provisions,” Gus Yahya explained.
However, looking at the atmosphere of the process from the beginning to the present, PBNU is confident that the Indonesian nation will be able to solve everything well.
“Whatever the outcome will be well received by all parties. Because until now we have not seen any potential for meaningful problems,” he said.
“So if suddenly there is a problem, there must be something wrong. Because until now we don't see any potential,” he said.
