Gibran: Whoever Wins and Loses Keeps Security a Priority

Gibran asks Linmas officers to remain friendly and patient.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SOLO -- Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka stated that whoever wins and loses in the 2024 Presidential Election contest, then security remains a priority.

“I am talking about the security in Solo City, the 14th of February so that everything is safe and smooth,” he said while giving a briefing to hundreds of Linmas officers in Surakarta City in the framework of securing the 2024 election in Solo, Central Java, on Monday (12/2/2024).

He asked the members of Linmas when bad things happened to stay in coordination with Kodim 0735/Surakarta Letkol Inf Commander Eko Hardianto and Surakarta Kombes Police Chief Pol Iwan Saktiadi. “Our priority now is the safety and comfort of citizens. Whoever chooses, whoever wins and loses, security is the most priority thing in Solo City,” he said.

According to him, in a competition it is common to win or lose. “But security remains number one. After that, we continue to build Solo City so as not to be preoccupied with the dynamics of achievement and so on,” he said.

He also asked the members of Linmas to keep the green uniform on election day, making it easy to identify residents. In addition, he asked the officers of Linmas to remain friendly and patient, also to keep serving the citizens well.

“Anyway, if there is anything in coordination with Mr. Dandim, the chief of police, keep serving with a patient smile,” he said.

On the same occasion, Kombes Pol Iwan Saktiadi said Linmas officers were spearheading the security of the 2024 elections, especially at polling stations (polling stations). “Linmas is a great strength and will be in each polling station later. It is important to equip them with the things that are their duty. Through this consolidation it is expected that Linmas will be able to work well and cooperate with us on the ground,” he said.
