REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chinese Women for Indonesia Advance declares support for presidential candidate and vice presidential candidate number 02 Prabowo Subainto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 presidential election. Chairwoman of Chinese Women for a Greater Indonesia, Emma Elizabeth said she supported Prabowo-Gibran because she wanted to make a real contribution to the development towards a Golden Indonesia 2045.

“We feel it is time for us as Indonesian citizens to take an active role. We want Indonesia to be a good mother for all children of the nation. We want to build Indonesia forward with Prabowo-Gibran,” Emma said at Kertanegara Rumah, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta, on Tuesday (6/2/2024).

Emma said that the leadership of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has left behind a series of achievements in various fields. Such achievements and kindness would later be continued by Prabowo-Gibran.

“We see and feel during Mr. Jokowi's ministry we can feel many things progressing, many things being good. Security, peace, tolerance, MSMEs, to infrastructure have advanced. We are confident that all this good will be continued by Prabowo-Gibran,” Emma said.

The declaration of support of Chinese Women for Indonesia Advance was officially accepted by Prabowo-Gibran's Deputy Chairman of the National Campaign Team (TKN), Grace Natalie. Representing TKN, Grace said she would like to thank the Chinese women who have expressed support for the 02 sequence number.

“This support is very special because it is brought to Chinese women. If the moms are down, I'm sure, done with everything,” Grace said in a press release.

Grace said that the involvement of women, especially Chinese women, in politics is still a minority. What's more, there is the past trauma that descendants of Chinese feel toward politics.

“Today's declaration means there is a statement of attitude to not just be a political object. But Chinese women are becoming active and independent subjects to take part in the development towards Indonesia moving forward,” Grace said.

To that end, Grace appealed to Chinese women to help campaign for the vision of the Prabowo-Gibran mission to those closest to them and ensure that February 14 came to the polling stations to vote for ticket number 02.

“Hopefully in the remaining days of this campaign the support of Chinese women can deepen Prabowo-Gibran's victory. Please make sure that mothers leave for the polling station on February 14. We invite those who are still in doubt, to assure that the 02 paslon work program is the most committed to women,” Grace said.
