REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law, and Security (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD has officially resigned from his position in Jokowi's cabinet. Regarding Mahfud's replacement, Coordinator of Special Staff to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ari Dwipayana said that he will wait for instructions from President Joko Widodo first.

“The mechanism is after it was delivered, when the president gave his approval, there was certainly his captain also for dismissal. And further waiting for the president's directive regarding filling the position of Menkopolhukam,” Ari said at the Ministry of State Secretariat building, Jakarta, Wednesday (31/1/2024)

According to him, the appointment of a new Menko Polhukam to replace Mahfud MD will be made as soon as possible. So that in the implementation of the functions and tasks of the Ministry of Justice Polhukam can be sure to go well, without waiting for the election process to end.

“As soon as possible, if the leadership wheel and also in the implementation of the duties of the ministry, there must be something that must be what the Deputy Minister who runs it or that should be the way, so do not wait for the elections to end,” he said.
