REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- LRT Jabodebek ensures that items belonging to passengers left both on the train and at the station will be secured by officers and can be returned to their owners.

“Jabodebek LRT officers periodically carry out checks on areas of the Jabodebek LRT network as well as at stations to ensure that no user goods are left behind,” said Jabodebek LRT Public Relations Manager Mahendro Trang Bawono in a statement in Jakarta, Monday (29/1/2024).

In addition, officers on the Jabodebek LRT network and at the station also remind users to keep their luggage from being left behind or changing hands with others. At the circuit and the Jabodebek LRT stations have also been equipped by CCTV so as to record and conduct comprehensive monitoring and rapid response to any incident.

Mahendro explained that since it began operations, the Jabodebek LRT has identified and documented as many as 997 incidents of users accidentally leaving their personal belongings both aboard the Jabodebek LRT network and at stations.

Cases of findings and reports recorded include a wide range of items such as bags, electronic devices, cash as well as electronic money, to personal accessories.

“For those users who have lost or left items on the Jabodebek LRT circuit or at the station, can report to the officers who are on the circuit, as well as at the station,” Mahendro said.

As for users who are no longer in the network or station area, they can report via KAI Contact Center at 121, customer service email [email protected], or KAI121 social media.

According to Mahendro, the role of the user is very important in preventing goods from being left behind although LRT Jabodebek is taking proactive steps to address this issue. He appealed for passengers to take responsibility for their luggage and remain vigilant during the journey.

“Jabodebek LRT urges users to be vigilant about their luggage and check before disembarking from the Jabodebek LRT network or leaving the station site,” Mahendro said
