Despite suffering two defeats against Iraq and Japan, Indonesia can qualify for the knockout phase with three points from a lone victory over Vietnam. Indonesia was also fortunate enough, as it was still fourth of the best third-ranked teams, below Jordan, Palestine, and Syria who compact bagged four points.

“Even though we won once and lost twice, the players worked hard in every game. That may be what affects the current results,” Shin said.

Shin is very grateful to be able to take his team out of the group phase. He appreciated the hard work of Asnawi Mangkualam and comrades in every match played.

“Without hard work maybe the One Above doesn't give you this kind of opportunity. God knows how hard work we are to get to the top 16,” Shin said.

Meanwhile, Asnawi also commented on the success of the national team making history in domestic football.

“Thank God, we got away. God answers our prayers and efforts,” Asnawi said.
