REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The number one presidential candidate, Anies Rasyid Baswedan, affirmed the readiness to continue the good program of the previous Indonesian president. Including Jokowi's presidential program.

“In fact, that good program will continue. Because the programs existed from the time of Bung Karno, Harto, Habibie, Gus Dur, Megawati and then President SBY. All there are sustainable programs,” he said in Sorong, South-West Papua, on Tuesday (16/1/2024).

Anies expressed the opinion when asked for a response regarding the wishes of the Papuan people, who want the incoming president, to continue President Jokowi's program. He exemplified the sustainable program, namely the health care center, posyandu, which has existed since time immemorial.

Recruiting Anies, every period of leadership, there is always something new brought. “All the good we will carry on,” said Anies who carried the tagline of change.

In addition, Anies also promised to make Sorong, as one of the 40 cities to be developed. The goal is for Sorong to become an economic driver in South West Papua.
