REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- General Chairman of Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan (PDIP), Megawati Soekarnoputri, opens the anniversary (anniversary) 51st PDIP. In his speech, he welcomed Vice President KH Ma'ruf Amin who was invited to represent the government because he was willing to attend, instead of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

“Dear Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Professor KH Ma'ruf Amin, who is willing to attend,” Megawati said in her speech followed by a small smile, at PDIP Party School, Jakarta, Wednesday (10/1/2024).

In commemoration of the 51st Anniversary of PDIP, a number of ministers from the Cabinet of Indonesia Maju participated. Some of them are Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yasonna H Laoly, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB) Abdullah Azwar Anas, Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Teten Masduki, Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini.

In addition, the executors (Plt) General Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Muhammad Mardiono and Chairman of the Indonesian United Party (Perindo) Hary Tanoesoedibjo were present. As for the Chairman of the National Reclamation Team (TPN) Ganjar-Mahfud, Arsjad Rashid.

“They wanted to be invited, so I invited. Mr. Andi Wijayanto also asked to be invited,” Megawati said.

PDIP Secretary General, Hasto Kristiyanto explained that the opening of the 51st Anniversary commemoration will be held at the PDIP Party School. Because it became a place to educate its cadre to have morality and political ethics.

“The commitment of the people to make the philosophy of Pancasila with the commitment to liberate the fate of young children is constantly being fought by all cadres of the party. It also shows that the place is mixed with cadres of the PDI Struggle for a strong understanding of ideology, an understanding of political organization,” Hasto said.

The commemoration of the 51st Anniversary of the PDIP is a momentum to be autocratic over such a long historical journey and track record. Moreover, long before Indonesia gained independence through the Indonesian National Party (PNI) founded by Bung Karno.

“And then PDI Struggle got the trust of the people to win the election, then two periods were out of government, and then the people trusted again. The whole branch of the party's struggle will also be an important momentum in thanking the birth of the 51st PDI Struggle,” Hasto said.

Further, the commemoration of the 51st Anniversary of PDIP was carried out simply and solemnly. It is recalled that its celebrations coincide with legislative elections and the 2024 presidential election.

“So that those invited later are only 51 people according to the age of PDIP,” Hasto said.
