REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Islamic Psychologist from Gajah Mada University (UGM) and President of the International Association of Muslim Psychologists Bagus Riyono revealed the reasons people are motivated to convert to Islam. According to him, the crowd became converted because there was an emptiness in his heart.
He said the experience of converts differed in finding their Lord. However, psychologically it has a conscience that is rarely felt. If he meditates often, he says, then the man will feel an emptiness in his heart.
“The emptiness in the heart then makes them restless, but often distracted by other activities. Well, those who are sensitive to their conscience will continue to look for what they really lack in their hearts,” Bagus said when contacted by Republika.co.id, Wednesday (27/12/2023).
Well, as soon as they know God, the answer is immediately felt,” he said.
Recently, according to her, there were about 30 Australian women who embraced Islam after witnessing the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, Palestine. They were also impressed by Gaza's resistance to Israel. In addition, according to Bagus, they actually converted to Islam also because there was an emptiness in his heart.
“When asked for testimony, he said that when they witnessed Israeli atrocities in Gaza, they cried every day, but did not know why. So there was something empty in his heart that was, and very agitated because of that,” he said.
Nice saying, the unease is incomprehensible to reason. After converting to Islam, the emptiness of their hearts was filled and believed that all things were destined by Allah.
