REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Now customers abroad can open a BRI accounts with BRImo. This service was launched as part of the BRImo initiative as a super app to provide comprehensive services for Indonesian citizens (WNI) who are abroad, especially workers and students.
This innovation was a manifestation of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk's commitment to carrying out digital transformation to answer market needs in using its banking services. One of the advantages of this service was opening a BRI account via BRImo using the local cellphone number/SIM card costumers use. It was intended to provide convenience for Indonesian citizens in various countries.
In the initial stages of launching this service, it accommodated BRI account openings using mobile phone numbers from Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, USA, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, Timor Leste and will continue to increase in the future.
BRI Network and Services Director Andrijanto revealed that digital transformation has encouraged banks to provide complete services using only smartphones. "Customer experience is BRI's priority in providing every service. BRI also always pays attention to market needs and increasingly diverse societal demands.
"It is hoped that this service from BRImo will make it easier for people who are living abroad but want something practical to solve their financial needs," he explained, Monday (Dec.11, 2023).
After opening an account, customers can immediately make financial transactions such as paying for electricity, education and other service needs quickly and efficiently, especially for their financial needs in Indonesia. Not only focusing on daily needs, BRImo also offers investment features to help in planning costumer's financial future through savings plans, purchasing bonds, shares and pension funds. BRImo was also equipped with a toll-free contact center and chat banking features so you can always be connected to customer service 24/7 without being subject to roaming and additional costs.
Here are steps to open savings abroad with BRImo.
1. Download and open BRImo.
2. Click "Don't Have an Account" and select the account type.
3. Fill in your personal data and overseas cellphone number.
4. Perform facial recording and checklist terms & conditions.
5. Create a username and password for the BRImo account and follow the steps until successful.
6. The initial deposit for opening an account can be made a maximum of 14 (fourteen) calendar days after the account is successfully opened.
To facilitate various other financial needs, BRI is also present in various countries through Bank Representative (BR) representatives and Overseas Channels spread across Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, USA, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore , as well as Timor Leste. The presence of BRI representatives among Indonesian citizens is expected to provide better services for Indonesian people abroad.
