REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (Baznas/National Zakat Board) RI received Palestinian income distribution from LAZ As Salaam Jayapura amounting to IDR 100 million, on Thursday (14/12/2023). The Chairman of Baznas RI, Prof. Dr. KH Noor Achmad, welcomed the Palestinian income given.

According to him, this is a form of concern of the people of Jayapura and its surroundings for the suffering felt by the Palestinian people. Noor also hopes this help can encourage concern and set a good example for the community.

“Thank you for the help provided. Moreover, this became the second Palestinian infak of LAZ As Salaam Jayapura and Jayapura people. It signifies the high mutual sharing attitude of our brethren on the land of Papua towards the suffering felt by the Palestinian people. May this be an example for all of us,” Noor said, in a written statement on Friday (15/12/2023).

Meanwhile, As Salaam Director Jayapura Mohamad Huri said that Israel has been engaged in a crackdown since the beginning of Israel's military aggression against the Palestinian people.

“As Salaam Jayapura and the people of Papua have committed the population. And this afternoon, we entrusted the distribution to Baznas RI to be handed over to the Palestinian people,” Huri said.

Huri added that he hoped the assistance provided could provide more benefits to those in need, particularly the Palestinian people who are suffering because of Israeli aggression.

We hope that what we provide can benefit the Palestinian people. “Hopefully we can bring hope and give peace to the suffering Palestinian people. May Allah SWT strengthen them,” Huri said.
