Assalam Fil Alamin Sends Aid to Palestine IDR 200 Million Through Baznas

Aid to Palestine through Baznas will be channeled in the next phase.

Amil Zakat Institute (LAZ) Assalam Fil Alamin distributes humanitarian income of IDR 200 million through the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) RI.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Amil Zakat Institute (LAZ) Assalam Fil Alamin distributes IDR 200 million in humanitarian income through the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) RI, as a form of concern for the people who are victims of Israeli attacks there. Chairman of BAZNAS RI Prof. Dr. Kh Noor Achmad, expressed his gratitude to the entire ranks of LAZ Assalam Fil Alamin and the community who have risen. Inpak for Palestine through BAZNAS RI will be distributed in the next phase.

“The attack by Israeli Zionists on Palestine annihilated Palestine. The casualties that have fallen are not few. BAZNAS has sent Palestinian humanitarian aid released by President Jokowi. We will continue to send aid to Palestinian Gaza,” Noor said in a written statement on Wednesday (22/11/2023).

Noor said that the trust and responsibility given to BAZNAS will be safeguarded by re-channeling the income collected by LAZ Assalam Fil Alamin to Palestinian Gaza.

“Israel's relentless attacks are making it difficult for the Palestinian community to meet its needs. BAZNAS will strive to be able to help the Palestinian people,” Noor said.

Noor explained that BAZNAS plans for assistance in the later stages of no longer sending goods from Indonesia. In exchange, BAZNAS will send aid in the form of money to philanthropic institutions in Egypt.

“We plan to work with philanthropic institutions in Egypt. Later we'll be shopping in areas closest to Palestine like Egypt. So it does not take long trips and reduces shipping costs considerably,” Noor said.

Meanwhile, LAZ Secretary Assalam Fil Alamin M. Adil Triansyah, expressed his gratitude to BAZNAS who were willing and deigned to accept aid to be channeled to Palestine.

“Thank God Lazis ASFA is currently able to channel IDR 200 million worth of aid which is for humanitarian assistance for the Palestinian people,” he said.

Adil added that the factor of choosing channeling through BAZNAS because it has been tested as an institution that has very high public trust. He said the aid was expected to ease the burden on the Palestinian people.

“We strongly trust BAZNAS as an institution that has a high level of public trust to funnel income to the Palestinians. Therefore, we do not hesitate to channel it through BAZNAS RI,” he added.
