Whoosh, Indonesia Bullet Train to Add More Trips Starting November

The addition of the Whoosh itinerary is followed by the addition of KA Feeder.

PT KCIC inaugurated a mobile ticketing app called WHOOSH Kereta Quick and made the first trip transporting paid passengers. At the inauguration, PT KCIC also provided a promo for passengers who bought tickets through the WHOOSH application at a cost of IDR 150 thousand for premium economy class from October 18 to November 30 in an effort to attract the interest of the public to switch to rail-based public transportation.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC), Indonesia's bullet train management, has again increased its Whoosh Fast Train's number of trip from the previous 25 trips per day to 28 trips in November. It will make addition of available seats to 16,828 seats per day from previously 8,414 seats.

KCIC President Director Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi explained, public's high enthusiasm for the Whoosh Fast Train service proofed by the high number of ticket sales. It is noted, the number of tickets that have been sold, including reservations, since opening on October 17 to November 1, 2023 has reached 124 thousand tickets.

Meanwhile, the total passengers of the Whoosh Fast Train that has been served until October 27 was 87 thousand passengers, with an occupancy rate of 90 percent. Since officially launched at first week of October 2023, The number of passengers reached 13 thousand passengers average in one day.

"We're increasing the number of journeys to 28 trips as more and more people need the Whoosh Fast Train service. To help people who want to arrive in Jakarta earlier, KCIC is now providing a fast train departing 05.50 from Tegalalur that will arrive in Halim at 6:36 am,” Dwiyana said in his statement, Sunday (29/10/2023).

The addition of this itinerary was also followed by the addition of KA Feeder Bandung-Padalarang round trip. He guarantees to always coordinate with various relevant parties in maintaining integration transport run smoothly, in order to ensure best service for passengers.

As for the ticket price, yet it is the cheapest bullet train ticket in the world, KCIC offers promo rate, Rp 150,000 for one trip. This low fare will be valid until November 30, 2023.
