REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA --Thousands of Indonesian marches against Israeli massacres in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, in front of the Embassy (Embassy) of the United States in Jakarta. The crowds gather early in the morning on Saturday (28/10/2023) and began their peaceful action by marching from Tanah Abang.
They were seen handing out attributes of Palestinian scarves, flags and headbands. The peaceful action participants were also seen carrying their families.
There was a slight tension between the participants and police officers. This occured as the participants of the action shifted slightly the access door towards the location point in front of the United States Embassy building.
Police officers also asked the participants not to take picture of the shuffle. The roar of takbir from the participants was heard echoing when orators on the main stage delivered opening speech opposing the oppression of Palestinians.
The sound of shouts of “Israel Terrorist” echoes from the protester. “Israel is a terrorist, Israel a murderer,” the orator said aboard a commando car.
The orator also invited participants to push for the dissolution of the United States Embassy office in Jakarta. They saw United States as a partner in crime of the Israel against the Palestinians. “Expel the United States ambassador right now,” said the orator.
The peace action committee chaired by Ustadz Bachtiar Nasir also held a joint tilawah. Some Quranic verses are solemnly recited on top of the commando car in turns.
