REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The residence of the Chairman of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri was reportedly searched by investigators of the Special Criminal Directorate (Ditkrimsus) of Metro Jaya Police, on Thursday (26/10/2023). The search site took place in Villa Galaxy, Jaka Setia, South Bekasi, Bekasi City, West Java.
The news of the search was confirmed by Roni Napitupulu as the head of the local RT, the lowest community unit in Indonesia. But he was unable to elaborate on the search. He just made sure there were a lot of police personnel at the site. “There was a shakedown,” Roni said, when contacted by media crews on Thursday (26/10/2023).
The same thing was also conveyed by the head of RT in Jaka Setia, South Bekasi, Kota Bekasi, Iwan Irawan. He said in the search as many as four of Firli Bahuri's neighbors were also being questioned by investigators.
“This morning I received information from Mr Roni. There was a witness questioning of his neighbours that there were four people,” Iwan explained.
Previously, Firli Bahuri had undergone almost 10 hours of inspection from 10.00 to 19.50 pm including rest time at Bareskrim Polri, South Jakarta, Tuesday (24/10/2023). But just like his arrival, Firli's return from Mabes Police also went undetected by media crews who had been waiting since the morning. “So at 19.50 pm, the inspection was declared complete,” head of the Ditkrimsus in Polda Metro Jaya, Ade Safri said
Firli was interogated by a joint investigator from the Metro Jaya Police and the Indonesian Police Headqurter since 10.00 WIB. He was questioned as a witness for the case of alleged extortion in the handling of cases of alleged corruption in the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) in 2021.
In that interogation, Firli was accompanied by the KPK law bureau. From the photos circulating, Firli appears to be wearing a brown long-sleeved batik shirt. It's just that a number of media crews who had been waiting for him at various exits of the Police Bareskrim Building and Rupatama did not find the presence of Firli exiting the Mabes Police compound.
