REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs/BUMN) Minister Erick Thohir said the government investment fund management body, the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA), is ready to attract more foreign investors to invest domestically, including investors who prefer to sharia.

According to Erick, investors who have sharia preferences will be facilitated through a thematic fund. Thematic funds are designed to invest in certain types of assets based on the risk profile and asset choices of investors.

"In thematic funds, we can create a sharia compliance fund for every sharia investor who wants to invest in Indonesia," said Ercik, Friday (9/4).

So far, Erick explained, INA has received investment commitments from several countries. One of them is from the Islamic country of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with an investment of up to 10 billion US dollars or around Rp140 trillion.

INA also received investment commitments from the United States (US) through the International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and Japan. The investment value of each country reached US $ 2 billion or equivalent to Rp.28 trillion and US $ 4 billion or equivalent to Rp.56 trillion.

Erick is optimistic that the Covid-19 vaccination program in Indonesia, which has been running since the beginning of the year, can increase foreign investor confidence in Indonesia. INA itself is expected to help open up new investment opportunities in the country.

"INA received a positive response from the global community and Indonesia is ready for more compliance with sharia investment," said Erick.

Jokowi said INA is a new source of development financing that is not loan-based but in the form of equity or equity.

The initial legal basis regarding SWF or LPI is Law (UU) number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation. The President has also signed a derivative regulation from the Job Creation Law which regulates this SWF. The two PPs signed by the president are PP number 73 of 2020 concerning LPI Initial Capital and PP number 74 of 2020 concerning
