JAKARTA - Police shot an unknown person (OTK) at the Indonesian Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri), Jakarta, Wednesday (31 March) at around 16.30 WIB.
Based on the circulating video footage, OTK dressed all in black with a blue hijab had been lying on the ground after being shot by the police.
A number of fully armed police were seen approaching the OTK. Currently, the National Police Headquarters Building is closely guarded.
Based on reports from residents in the vicinity of the incident, gunshots were heard 6-7 times from inside the Police Headquarters.
Hendri, a parking attendant, said they heard gunshots. He also heard a commotion from the back door of the Police Criminal Investigation Building.
"Yes, I heard gunfire, I don't know how many times, we were told to stay away from the officers," said one of the parking attendants at the Police Headquarters.
Meanwhile, traffic in front of Bareskrim at the Police Headquarters is still running normally, there is no blocking of traffic flow.
Until this news was published, Republika.co.id had not yet received an explanation from the related parties. This is because all access to and from the Bareskrim Polri building is closely guarded by the police.
In fact, when Republika.co.id tried to get closer to the point where the shooting took place, officers on guard were prohibited.
"Hey, don't go there, hurry and go," shouted one of the officers, in South Jakarta, Wednesday (31/3).
