REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Gerindra Party spokesperson Andre Rosiade said the meeting between former presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto and President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will be held in this month. However, he cannot confirm yet the exact time of the meeting.
"The meeting is currently arranged, Mr Prabowo and Mr Jokowi will arrange it directly due to their schedule," said Andre on Wednesday (July 3).
Andre said in the meeting, Prabowo and Jokowi would discuss several things that necessary. One of those is related to the request of detention suspend.
Andre said there were a number of figures who considered in the middle of trouble. They are currently in custody and their family searched Prabowo for seeking help.
"Just imagine, Mr Prabowo was often visited by families such as wife whose husband is detained. They beg to release their family members," Andre explained.
According to Andre, Prabowo felt responsible for this matter. Therefore, he expected through the meeting between his party general chairman and Jokowi, the tension that is still heating up can be lowered.
In addition, Andre hopes that as a statesman, the two figures can show to people in Indonesia, that after competition, all parties can unite to build the nation. However, he stressed that 'together build nation' was not meant about 'share ministers position'.
"We join hands together as children of this nation," Andre added.
