REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said there are six people dead and more than 200 others injured due to riot in front of Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) office on MH Thamrin street and Petamburan street, Central Jakarta.
The victims were treated at Tarakan Hospital, Pelni Hospital, Mintohardjo Hospital, Budi Kemuliaan Hospital, and Cipto Mangungkusumo Hospital. “There are around 200 people injured at 09.00 WIB (Indonesia West Standard Time) and six people dead,” Anies said on Wednesday.
Anies asserted people who became victims due to this incident, both from civilians and security personnel will get medical treatment properly. He also said for those who have Health Care and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan), the cost will be borne by the agency.
Meanwhile, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will cover the costs of care for those who do not have BPJS. Anies aid he ensured victims will be no charged of their medical treatment.
“We will handle everything, so please be calm,” Anies added.
