REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SURABAYA - Indonesian presidential candidate number 02 Prabowo Subianto attended the declaration of support of Jamaah Thoriqoh Sathoriah in Tambak Deres, Kenjeran, Surabaya, Tuesday (Feb 19). On the way to the declaration venue, volunteers supporting incumbent President Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin welcomed his arrival while shouting slogans and declaring support for presidential candidate number 01.

As he passed the crowd flocked along Jalan Bulak Rukem Timur, Prabowo opened the the window of his car and waved to the supporters of his opponents in the 2019 Presidential Election. Prabowo clenched his three fingers, leaving his thumb and index finger visible which symbolized two-finger pose.

When passing through the crowd, Prabowo's car was escorted by the president's security team. Prabowo was also seen throwing smiles at the supporter of Jokowi-Maruf who kept on shouting slogans of support for the presidential candidates number 01.

The mass coordinator of Jokowi-Maruf supporters, Untung (59 y.o), stressed that the action was not intended to confront Prabowo. They only intended to welcome Prabowo's arrival, even though the welcome remarks were expressed in shouts of yells of support for Jokowi-Maruf.

"We affirm, we do not intend to confront Mr. Prabowo. We welcome Mr. Prabowo as a guest. But the support of the people here remains to Mr. Jokowi," Untung said.

Untung asserted that the mass of Jokowi's supporters would not reach the stage where the declaration of support for Prabowo was held. They would only hold action in the distance, while welcoming Prabowo's arrival to the location of the declaration.

"What is clear is that here is Jokowi's territory, the bull's area (PDIP base)," Untung said.
