REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BENGKULU -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla hopes the country's second largest Muslim organization Muhammadiyah to intensify preaching about the importance of living in harmony with others. He said that while giving a speech at the closing of Muhammadiyah Tanwir (meeting) 2019 at the Bengkulu Governor's Mansion on Sunday.

"Muhammadiyah Islamic Organizations and others will certainly be part of the effort, not only to promote two things - aqeedah and worship, but also harmonious relationship among people," Kalla said.

Kalla said that social relations between people must be part of the fight of Muslim organizations, especially Muhammadiyah, in order to maintain the unity and integrity of the country. "The life of a country, social life must be further improved socially. It must be part of our struggle as Muslims," he added.

The Vice President said that currently human relations are getting weaker, especially in Indonesia, although worship and aqeedah practices by individual Muslim have strengthened.

"We are strong in worship and aqeedah, but not strong in Islamic life. So for us, religion, `hablum minallah' (relation with the God) is strong; the weakening is human relations, muamalah, "explained Kalla.

Therefore, the Vice President hopes that Muhammadiyah could preach more on the importance of maintaining living in harmony among people.
