Do not underestimate the power of prayers: Arifin Ilham

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PENANG -- Ustaz Arifin Ilham reminded all Muslims to not underestimate prayer as it was the God's command. He said that God loved people who pray to Him.

"Only prayer that can change our fate (qada)," he stated quoting Prophet Muhammad (may peace be upon him).

Therefore, ustaz Arifin called on all Muslims to never get bored to pray. He reiterated that everything is possible with the permission of Allah.

"Allah, grant the prayer of Your servants, aamiin," he said.

After being treated for several days in Malaysia, ustaz Arifin's condition has improved. The founder of Adz-Dhikra Dhikr Assembly was treated at Gleneagles Hospital, George Town, Penang Island, in Malaysia, since Thursday (Jan 10).

On Monday (Jan 14), ustaz Arifin gave information about his condition. He said that he felt more comfortable.

"Subhanallah (God is perfect); Alhamdulillah (All praise is due to Allah). I already had breakfast despite eating it slowly. I feel fresher and more comfortable," ustaz Arifin said via an electronic message to Republika.co.id on Monday (Jan 14).

In the midst of the examination of his illness, Ustadz Arifin continued to strive and tried to get closer to Allah SWT.

This famous cleric also expressed his gratitude for the prayers offered for his recovery. "Jazakumullah (May Allah reward you with goodness) for all the generosity and prayers from my beloved best friends," he wrote.

Ustaz Arifin is being treated for stage 4 nasopharyngeal and lymph cancer. Before leaving for Malaysia, he was treated at RSCM Hospital in Jakarta.

A number of relatives and officials visited Ustaz Arifin at RSCM, including President Joko Widodo and vice presidential candidate KH Ma'ruf Amin, as well as presidential and vice presidential candidates number 02, Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno.
