REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A teenager with lymph node cancer has realized her dream to meet President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). It was her mother, an online transportation driver, who struggled to fulfilled the girl's dream.

According to a video broadcast, received by Antara from the Jokowi Volunteer Team on Thursday, the meeting took place when Jokowi met with hundreds of transportation drivers online on Saturday (Jan 12) at the JI-Expo Kemayoran, Jakarta. Amid the noisy atmosphere of the participants who packed the arena, the teenage girl managed to realize her desire to meet and take pictures with Jokowi.

Her mother managed to bring her to meet Jokowi, but meeting Jokowi was not an easy task. Luckily, the mother's struggle to bring her daughter to meet Jokowi was noticed by the presidential guard.

The guard put the mother and the daughter on the path Jokowi would take. The mother was moved to tears when her daughter finally managed to meet Jokowi.

"My child has cancer, sir. My child just wanted to meet Mr. Jokowi," the emotional mother remarked.

According to the mother, her daughter had been suffering from lymph node disease for four years. The mother took her daughter to the event with the aim of being able to restore the child's confidence when she meets Jokowi.

"Today, I had the opportunity to attend an online driver gathering with Mr. Jokowi. I deliberately brought my daughter because I knew she would be very happy to meet Mr. Jokowi," the mother revealed.

Furthermore, the mother added that Jokowi and her husband were both from Solo. Therefore, she believed that her daughter had found a father whom she loved so much in Jokowi.
