REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi met a summons from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Thursday. He was questioned as witness in a bribery case on disbursement of government grant to Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI).
"I have to meet a summons to serve as a witness. I received the summons yesterday evening," he remarked at the KPK building here.
Nahrawi arrived at the KPK building at around 10 a.m. local time, accompanied by the ministry's secretary, Gatot S. Dewa Broto. However, Nahrawi refused to divulge further details of the case.
"I will listen to what the KPK will say. Hence, I only bring necessary data," he stated.

The anti-graft body has named five suspects in the bribery case linked to the disbursement of government fund to KONI through the Youth and Sports Ministry. KONI secretary general and general treasurer are accused of bribing officials of the Youth and Sports Ministry and three officials of the ministry, including the deputy IV, accused of receiving bribes amounting to at least Rp318 million.
Earlier, the ministry's deputy IV had also received a Fortuner jeep in April 2018 and Rp300 million in cash from the KONI official in June 2018 and a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 mobile phone. The government grant to KONI amounted to Rp17.9 billion.
