REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Head of Research and Development Agency (Balitbang) of the Education and Culture Ministry (Kemendikbud) Totok Suprayitno said that the National Examination (UN) was used to improve the learning process. In addition to being used to measure graduates' competency level, the National Exam is also used to improve the learning process in the classroom, he noted in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He stated that the most effective and efficient way to improve student competence is to provide feedback to students. "Feedback has the greatest influence, with the lowest costs, to improve student achievement," Suprayitno stated.
Head of Research and Development Agency added that to provide assessment feedback, the Education Assessment Center, Balitbang, Ministry of Education and Culture, compiles a National Examination Results Report each year that contains all UN results data from the provincial level to the education unit level.
In 2018, the UN results report was completed with provincial / regency / city level national report cards and UN results executive summary. The National Examination Report and question release are Puspendik's efforts to assist the education office in following up on the UN results.
"If a more detailed analysis is carried out at the district / city level, the education unit level will produce a map of strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, efforts to improve learning, such as teacher training, cannot be done uniformly, and it needs to consider each region /education units."
To improve learning, Balitbang provides alternative means that can be used, namely Assessment of Indonesian Student Competence (AKSI). The AKSI application can be provided free of charge to parties who seriously want to use the SCAI as a means of improving learning.
The Head of the Education Assessment Center, Moch Abduh, revealed that the National Examination Report was a means of the Ministry of Education and Culture to deliver student achievements and diagnosis of assessment results.
Diagnosis consists of things that have been mastered and things that have not been mastered. The results of the diagnosis can be a basis for information to improve the quality of learning.
