Jokowi receives Chinese Indonesian Association at Palace

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) received the administrators of the Chinese Indonesian Association (INTI) at the Merdeka Palace here on Wednesday. The INTI management held an around 30-minute meeting with the president.

The INTI administrators, led by Chairperson of the INTI Association Teddy Sugianto, arrived at the Merdeka Palace complex on Wednesday at around 9:30 a.m. local time. According to Sugianto, INTI's central management discussed several things, one of which was the development of human resources.

"The president spoke of infrastructure issues and also plans on how to build human resources on a large scale," Sugianto remarked after meeting the president.

Furthermore, he explained that INTI supports the Human Resources development plan. In the meantime, INTI Deputy Chairperson Budi Santoso stated that the organization was aware of the need to improve the quality of human resources to strengthen the nation's competitiveness.

"The second foundation to be strengthened is related to human resources, and the president realizes that the competitiveness of Indonesian people is in fact potentially good, even above average, but needs a better planned management," Santoso noted.

He added that the president also urged entrepreneurs to increase the amount of investment in Indonesia.

"If we compare it to other countries, we are still better. I am certain that whoever he is, his love for the Republic of Indonesia must be great," Santoso stated.
