He said following the recommendations of the meeting of the campaign team in Surabaya recently, all ranks and files of the PDIP will conduct consolidation and information campaign to solidify support for the Jokowi-Ma'ruf pair throughout the country. To this end, the PDIP team, led by Kristiyanto, will visit West Java and East Java this week, while PDIP Chairman Idham Samawi will travel to Yogyakarta and later Lampung, South Sumatra, and Jambi in Sumatra.

"The teams will meet regional party boards, heads of regions from the party and legislative members, as well as legislative candidates from all levels," he noted.

He said the "nationalist safari" road show that he led will take the land route from Jakarta through the Javanese northern coastal areas to conduct consolidation in West Java.

"I am also scheduled to inaugurate a PDIP branch office in Lamongan, East Java," he revealed.

Kristiyanto said the campaign tour was aimed at reviving the people's nationalist spirit for the unity and glory of Indonesia.

"People need to be reminded of the spirit of nationalism of the independence fighters and to also check implementation of the party's three pillars (structural, legislative and executive) to ensure victory in the election in 2019," he stated.

Indonesia plans to hold parliamentary and presidential elections simultaneously in April next year. In the presidential election, incumbent Jokowi, as incumbent with chief cleric Ma'ruf as his running mate, will compete against former army general Prabowo Subianto and his running mate businessman Sandiaga Uno.
