NU and Muhammadiyah condems Tursilawati's execution

There are still 13 of Indonesian workers threatened by death sentenced in Saudi

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Head of Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah denounces Saudi's execution to Indonesian worker, Tuty Tursilawati. Saudi's has executed Tursilawati without notifying Indonesia government.

"We were discussed Tursilawati's execution, and since the first time we have deplored this execution," Haedar, the chairman of Muhammadiyah, explained on Wednesday. 

Haedar hopes, Tursilawati's death penalty for Indonesian workers in Saudi is the last time. Furthermore, Saudi is among Organisation of Islam Coorperation (OIC) and Indonesia is a part as well.

"And I convinces, Saudi's government which also a part of OIC as well and Muslim world will understand this concern as important thing thats should be evaluated and not  repeated again," Haedar added.

At the same place Head of Nahdlatul Ulama Said Aqil Siradj said, his organisation had sent letter to President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo to respond this issue before the execution.  "And we were suprissed," Kiai Said, said.

He said, Minister of Forreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi has sent letter to Saudi's government recently to protest the execution. Said added, there are still 13 of Indonesian workers who threatened death sentenced in Saudi and need a serious attentions from government.
