Jokowi promises operational village fund available in 2019

The amount of operational funds is around five percent of the village budget.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BADUNG — President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) promised village operational funds to be available starting in the 2019 budget year. He said the amount of operational funds is around five percent of the village budget.

“There will be village operational fund, so the use the fund by the village head will be clear,” said Jokowi when opening National Work Meeting on Applied Technology and the 2018 Village Development Innovation Week 2018 at Garuda Wisnu Kencana in Bali on Friday (Oct 19).

Government is currently drafting revision of Government Regulation No. 22/2015 on Village Fund, in order to include elements for village operational fund. Jokowi stressed the revision was needed to count whether the amount of operation fund will be five percent or not.

“Once again, we will revise Government Regulation. We will calculate whether we get five percent or get four percent, but it will be around five percent," Jokowi added.

In addition, Jokowi also said government will allocate a budget for districts in the cities. He asserted that the budget will be given next year.

National Working Meeting on Effectiveness of Technology and Village Development Innovation Week 2018 is an annual event, organized by Directorate General of Village Governance (PMD) Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration. The event aimed to find creators of creations and innovations in the area in technology development.

The event was attended by 7,000 participants from villages and districts, regency governments, city governments and provincial governments throughout Indonesia. Meanwhile, the exhibition which featured locally appropriate technology products.
