REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — A vice presidential candidate of presidential candidate President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), KH Ma’ruf Amin clarified the news on his health condition. He regretted the information circulating in social media that said he was sick.
He stressed that until today he was still able to perform many activities, as scheduled. He proved it by paying a visit to Sri Sultan Hamengkubowono X in Yogyakarta Palace, on Monday (Oct 15).
"This morning I also met heads of supporting parties in Yogyakarta," Ma'ruf added.
The news came from a picture of him circulating in social media. He was seen lying in a hospital bed.
"It was the picture of my medical check up in 2016, but the news said I'm ill.
I do not know what does it mean," he said.
According to Ma’ruf he is healthy and fit, despite he had a lot of schedules. He asserted the rumor that said he was ill was only part of hoax (fake news).
“Alhamdulillah (thank God) I’m healthy and fit, even though I have many agendas, even tomorrow I have working visit to Singapore,” said Ma’ruf.
