REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who become presidential candidate in 2019 presidential election hailed Yenny Wahid support to him and his running mate, KH Ma’ruf Amin. He admitted the support has pumped his spirit to give the best.
“The support has been conveyed directly by her, of course it pumps my spirit,” said Jokowi on Thursday (Sept 27).
Nevertheless, Jokowi admitted that he was not surprised by Yenny’s support. He said the daughter of former president late Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) once conveyed her support to him.
“Yes, Alhamdulillah (thank God) Yenny ever told me, but she asks me to wait for the right momentum to declare it,” Jokowi added.
Yenny has officially declared her support to Jokowi - Kiai Ma’ruf pair in 2019 presidential election. Beside Yenny, nine elements of Gusdurian also supported the candidates pair.
“By saying Bismillahirahmanirahim, we hereby declare our support to number one candidates pair,” said Yenny on Wednesday (Sept 26).
In the declaration, Yenny was ccompanied by nine other Gusdurian elements, such as the Gusdur Barricade, National Awakening Movement (Gatara), Kyai Kampung Nusantara Forum (FKKNU), Women's Network for NKRI, the Nusantara Student Unit, National Caring People, Santri Pojokan Community. In addition, there are also Milenial Political Movement and Garis Politik Mawardi.
