REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- National Police would review the report over House of Representatives deputy speaker Fadli Zon filed by Indonesia Solidarity Party (PSI) cadre, Rian Ernest. Fadli was reported for his version of a song titled "Potong Bebek Angsa" that was posted in his personal Twitter account.
"We will check it," said National Police spokesman Setyo Wasisto on Wednesday (Sept 26).
Setyo said the report will be examined first. The police will also collect information including from expert witnesses if it is necessary, to review whether the song was a part of black campaign.
“Some people say the song is more dangerous than a black campaign, but some people say the otherwise, so we should review it again,” Setyo added.
Ahead of 2019 presidential election, police has predicted candidates will report each other due to certain cases. However, National Police promised to be neutral.
According to Rian, the lyrics of "Potong Bebek Angsa" made up by Fadli could create anxiety and raise tension in the community. He said itu could create disruption and a sense of disbelief in the government.
Rian said the song's lyrics contained elements of a black campaign ahead of the presidential election and contained elements of hoax. He claimed to have asked Fadli Zon to delete it from his Twitter . However, Fadli refused it.
