REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- National Mandate Party (PAN) Secretary General Eddy Sopearno admitted Prabowo Subianto - Sandiaga Uno was hit by social media attacks. However, PAN was not afraid and ready to win the opposition camp's pair of presidential and vice presidential candidate in the presidential election 2019.

“Many attacks on social medias, but in the end, in the reality we will win the fight,” said Eddy on Thursday (August 23).

Eddy said the real battle was not online and PAN was ready to win it on the ground. As strategy, Prabowo - Sandiaga would create a more efficient winning team.

The winning team would be operated on a territorial basis, Eddy said. He expected the chairman of the winning team can bear the responsibility.

"It's useless if only win the fight on social medias,” Eddy added.

Meanwhile, Gerindra Party politician Habiburokhman said Prabowo - Sandiaga winning team formally will be slim. However, non-formally, it will look fat because it targets women, including housewives and mothers.

“We will make it slim formally, but actually it will look fat because we target women, housewives, and mothers,” Habiburokhman said.

The opposition camp finally announced the pair of presidential and vice presidential candidate. Late on August 9, Gerindra Party chief patron Prabowo declared himself as presidential candidate and Sandiaga as his running mate.

"Leaders of three political parties, namely Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), PAN, and Gerindra Party have decided and trusted me and Sandiaga to advance as presidential and vice presidential candidate for the 2019-2024 term,"  said Prabowo in a press conference on August 9.
