REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Democratic Party executive Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said the party continues its intensive communication with Gerindra Party. The statement came following cancellation of a meeting between the two parties general chairman, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday night.

The meeting was cancelled because SBY's health condition. He has been hospitalized at Gatot Subroto Army Hospital since Tuesday (July 17).

AHY said the two parties will arrange time to held the meeting between his father and Prabowo related to 2019 presidential election. He could not confirm the date of the meeting yet.

According to AHY, SBY needed at least four days to rest. On the other hand, Prabowo’s schedule was also tight.

AHY said Prabowo has plan to go abroad. The meeting schedule between SBY and Prabowo can be determined afterwards, he said.

“We’ll announce the schedule officially, but clearly SBY needs four days to rest,” AHY added.

Meanwhile, Prabowo assured no political talks occured when he visited SBY at the hospital.  "Next week we're going to talk serious matters," Prabowo said.

However, he was reluctant to share the detail of time and location of the meeting.

Prabowo was accompanied by SBY's sons, AHY and Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono while walking out the hospital.

Earlier, Gerindra Party general secretary Ahmad Muzani said the two parties leader will discuss the possibility to pair AHY as Prabowo’s running mate. He hoped the meeting will be a productive one.
