REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PEKANBARU -- The Indonesian Police, on Sunday evening (July 1), arrested an ISIS sympathizer, identified by the initials as "RH". He was allegedly involved in a murder and robbery in Pekanbaru City of Riau Province.
"He allegedly committed murder and robbery on May 25," Head of Riau Police Inspector General Nandang stated here on Tuesday.
The joint security team, comprising personnel of the Police and Mobile Brigade, arrested RH from his rented house located in Jalan Cipta Karya of Pekanbaru City. The police found several pieces of evidence, including ISIS flags, video discs, and sharp weapons, which hinted at RH being a sympathizer of ISIS.

The police had earlier accused RH of being a suspect in the case of the murder of Ahmad Syahwan.
RH had allegedly killed Syahwan and stolen his motorcycle and valuable items.
Head of Public Relations for Riau Police Senior Commissioner Sunarto stated that RH had admitted to his criminal deeds.
RH acknowledged that he had committed the criminal acts after being invited by his friend, with the initials YD, who then turned fugitive.
According to Sunarto, RH also admitted to being a sympathizer of ISIS.
The police continue to investigate the links between the ISIS sympathizer and the murder.
