Bank Indonesia ready to welcome returning funds

Bank Indonesia says there are still much money in circulation during Eid holidays.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SUKOHARJO -- Bank Indonesia (BI) predicted that foreign funds would return back to the country after Eid al-Fitr starting Tuesday. He said currently there are still much money in circulation with the large consumption during the religious day celebrations.

Perry said money circulation was huge at gas stations, at shopping malls. Bank Indonesia and bankers would be ready to receive incoming funds, Perry remarked.

"We will provide the best service in welcoming the funds flowing back to the country starting June 19," Governor of the country's Central Bank Perry Warjiyo said here on Monday.

Money circulation was predicted to reach Rp188 trillion during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

"With the growing economy, the need for money increases," Perry said.
