REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale shook Indonesia's westernmost Province of Aceh at 10:16 p.m. local time on Saturday.
Report obtained from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency's (BMKG) office in Aceh said, the epicenter of the tremor was located at the depth of 53 kilometers, 1.77 North latitude and 96.42 East longitude or located 106 kilometers southeast of Simeulue District, Aceh.
The quake did not have the potential to cause a tsunami. So far there is no information about the aftershocks and the effects of the shocks.
