Jokowi receives credentials of 11 ambassadors

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) received the credentials of 11 Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (LBBP) at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. President Jokowi received the ambassadors at the Credential Room on Wednesday at 10 a.m. local time.

The welcome ceremony accompanied by the playing of the national anthems of the 11 countries marked the start of the ceremony.

The 11 ambassadors, who met the president, were Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Indonesia Mohamed Ghassan Mohamed Adnan Shaikho, South Korean Ambassador to Indonesia Kim Chang-beom, Georgian Ambassador to Indonesia Irakli Asashvili, Fiji's Ambassador to Indonesia Seleima Dikawakawayali Veisamasama, and Polish Ambassador to Indonesia Beata Stoczynska.

In addition, other ambassadors, who also attended the ceremony, were Russian Federation's Ambassador to Indonesia Lyudmila Georgievna Vorobieva, Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Gary Francis Quinlan, Uganda's Ambassador to Indonesia Dorothy Samali Hyuha, Gambian Ambassador to Indonesia Ramzia Diab Ghanim, Latvian Ambassador to Indonesia Normans Penke, and Ivory Coast's Ambassador to Indonesia Jeanne Guehe.

After submitting the credentials, Jokowi, along with Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, invited the ambassadors for a discussion at the porch of the courtyard of the Merdeka Palace.

After submitting the credentials to the President, the foreign ambassadors introduced their spouses to the Indonesian Head of State.
